18.08.31-18.09.02 Victoria Classic Boat Festival
Event photographer for the three day Festival. Being immersed in the rich tradition of Victoria’s maritime history was revelatory. Several fishing boats conscripted during World War II were a special focus of the event. Legendary yacht designer Ron Holland gave a presentation. Additionally, the Felicity Ann was a part of the festival. In 1952–1953, this 23-foot wooden sloop was sailed by Ann Davison in the first singlehanded transatlantic crossing by a woman. The organizers did an incredible job and it was really enjoyable meeting the community of boat owners. The dedication to restore and preserve these classic boats was on full display.
