Several years ago Juliet and I explored much of the shoreline along the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet, hoping to find the best intertidal areas for our personal research. Since that week long adventure, we plan our yearly fieldtrip around one of the lower summer tides. This year we had an overcast day to start with and carefully ventured into a few intertidal zones. Once the tide turned, we explored the shoreline for wildflowers. The next day the sun came out and we reviewed the south end of Long Beach and finished up our day exploring the Shorepine Bog Trail, just off Wick Rd.
